We have just heard that the Post Office has increased the amount of postage needed to send First Class mail! The cost to send one of our test kits has gone up from 6 stamps ($2.62) to 7 stamps – $3.00 total postage

This change became effective on Sunday, September 3, 2017, without any prior notification from USPS. From what we’ve been able to find, this price increase was proposed on August 15 – just 3 weeks before it became effective. There has not been anything posted on the Post Office website that we’ve been able to find. This is another example of why we do not recommend shipping with USPS.

** UPDATE: current postal rate for shipping via USPS First Class mail is $3.50. ** If you are using stamps, this is still 7 stamps, as stamps are $0.50 each.
